  Access: From Hwy 62, proceed 13 miles east of Twentynine Palms, past the airport, look for Gold Crown road headed south. Bear left at the fork. Campsite is on the ridge to your right just past Virginia Dale Mine. 4-Wheel drive required. Soft, deep sand makes the campsite inaccessable to 2-wheel drive vehicles.  
  Facilities: No facilities. Just a flat area, with a fire ring.  
  Season: Open all year  
  Fees: No Fees  
  Nearby Hiking Trails: No 'official' trails, but the land is pretty wide open. If you hike into the valley to the south, you can hike a long distance and still keep your campsite in view.  
  Nearby 4x4 Trails: Oh My God! There are DOZENS of jeep trails that lead off Gold Crown road, winding up to the various mines, ruins, shafts, audits, mills and tanks scattered throughout the mining district.  
  Comments: Don't like this camp? Drive around, this is all open land.
