Location: Mojave Desert, within the Mojave National Preserve

Access: Take I-40 to Essex Road, head north 16 miles to campground.

Facilities: 6 sites, vault toilets, water, fire pits.

Season: Open year round. VERY hot in summer.

Fees: $14 per night, extra charge for dogs.

Nearby Hiking Trails: Numerous trails to various abandoned mines. Check at the ranger station for info on the Mitchel Cavern Tour.

Nearby 4X4 Trails: 6 miles before the campground is a pipeline road heading east, taking you through Foshay Pass to Kelbaker Road. Another dirt road heads southwest to Hidden Hill, Quail Spring and Granite Pass.
