Location: Mojave National Preserve

Access: Take I-15 to Baker. Exit east on Kelbaker Road. Watch for unsigned sandy road under the cinder cones. 4 wheel drive is REQUIRED to reach this site.

Facilities: Room for 2-3 vehicles.

Season: Open year round. VERY hot in summer.

Fees: None

Nearby Hiking Trails: Across the wash, hike cross country into the cinder pits and basalt lava flows. Watch for openings into the underground lava tubes.

Nearby 4X4 Trails: Numerous unnamed dirt and sand 4x4 trails.
