Tijuana Slough National Wildlife refuge
Name: Tijuana Slough National Wildlife refuge
Location: From I-5, exit at Coronado Avenue heading west. Turn south at Third Street to the visitor center
on Caspian Way. The visitor center and native plant garden is open daily. Trails are open from sunrise
to sunset.
Comments: Over 1000 acres inside one of California's last wild coastal lagoon. Habitats include upland, tide marsh
and beach dunes. Over 300 species of bird have been recorded here. Endangered or threatened species
include Least Bell's Vireo, California Brown Pelican, California Least Tern and the Western Snowy Plover.
