Name: Crossroads
Location: I-10 to 177 north, to 62 east to Earp, CA. North a few miles on Parker Dam road.
Access: Paved roads, 2wd vehicles OK.
Comments: In the 1930s during the period of construction of the Metropolitan
Water District aquaduct and the Parker Dam, the town of Crossroads developed to
a population of up to 3000 people. The town had 5 grocery stores, 3 restaurants,
a pool hall, barber shop, beauty shop, mortuary, bowling alley, 3 service stations,
2 used car lots, church, power plant, several saloons and numerous residences.
Several stone buildings and concrete slabs remain.
