Name: Dale

Location: Take I-10 east to Hwy 62 north and east past Joshua Tree to Old Dale Road.

Access: Deep sand and dirt roads, 4wd vehicles required.

Comments: Actually two ghost towns here, Old Dale (1884) and New Dale (1910). Old Dale is at the well site on the shore of Dale Dry Lake, New Dale is about 10 miles south, inside what is now Joshua Tree National Park. These towns supplied water and supplies to numerous diggings in the Dale Mining District.
