Name: Goldstone

Location: Take I-15 north to Barstow, exit on Irwin road headed north. Goldstone is just on the edge of Fort Irwin Military Reservation.

Access: 4wd vehicles required.

Comments: Founded in the 1850s, Goldstone is in the center of a network of 4WD trails leading to dozens of mines and prospects. Only a few buildings still stand. Check out NASAs deep space tracking facility (BIG dish antennas) nearby.
