Location: San Diego County at the junction of Hwys 78 and 79.

Access: Paved roads, 2wd vehicles OK.

Comments: This doesnt REALLY count as a 'Ghost Town', as it is fully restored and populated as a tourist town. In 1869 gold was discovered here, and the town supported two hotels and eight saloons, along with cafes, stores, stables and a church. Many of the current buildings are original, and the main museum is worth seeing, as well as the Eagle Mine tour. It is crowded here on weekends and during the fall Apple season.
