Name: Lanfair
Location: I-15 north past barstow to 40. Take 40 east to Fenner. Head northeast to Goffs, then Lanfair road north to Lanfair Valley.
Access: Paved and good dirt roads, 2wd vehicles OK.
Comments: Now inside the boundries of the Mojave National Preserve, this was once a stop on the old Mojave Road, a pioneer trail from Fort Piute on the Colorado River 138 miles to the Afton Canyon area. Once a fairly prosperous ranching town, there are few buildings left standing.
