Ludlow
Name: Ludlow
Location: East of Barstow on old route 66.
Access: Paved roads, 2wd vehicles OK.
Comments: Named for William Ludlow, an employee of the Atlantic & Pacific Railroad, in 1883. In the late 1800s, gold
was dicovered nearby and the town grew. Ludlow became a water stop for the Central Pacific, the Ludlow & Southern, and the
Tonopah & Tidewater railroads. Few buildings still stand, lots of rusty old junk litter the area.
