Aiken Mine Road

Trailhead Access: Take I-15 north to Baker, head east on Kelbaker road. Look for a dirt road headed north at the start point listed below.
Total Distance: 9.6 miles
Elevation Gain/loss: Low point: 3099 feet, High point: 4053 feet
Starts at: 35°09'19"N, 115°47'25"W
Ends at: 35°13'50"N, 115°43'30"W
Comments: Proceed north and east on the dirt road about 4.75 miles to an abandoned corral at 35.212528/115.753829. You may want to park here and take a short walk up the track to the north to explore the entrance to the lava tube caves. Then, back to your jeep and continue to the east, and curve north around the cinder cone. Stay on the main track, then turn right at the intersection at 35.246838/115.73100. From here, its an easy 1.3 miles further to the Aiken Mine. Theres enough mining ruins and debris here to keep you exploring all day. SoCalCamping.com rates this trail as moderate.
