Butler peak via Snow slide road

Trailhead Access: Take Freeway to 330 north. Go through Running Springs and Arrowbear to Green Valley Lake Road. Turn left, about 5.75 miles through town.
Total Distance: 9.98 miles
Elevation Gain/loss: Low point: 6994 feet, High point: 8472 feet
Starts at: 34°17'03"N, 116°58'06"W
Ends at: 34°15'25"N, 117°00'28"W
Comments: The road starts in Fawnskin valley on Coxey Road about .25 miles south of the entrance to the Green Valley Campground. Head west on 2N13, which will curve and head southwest. At .8 miles, the road forks, bear right onto 2N13C for another 3.69 miles. This road is rated 'moderate' in summer, probably impassable in winter. The road ends just below the Butler Peak Fire Lookout at 34°15'25", 117°00'28". This is a fairly short road, but it takes you to one of the highest places you can drive to in the San Bernardino Mountains. US Forest Service rates this trail as Moderate.
