Comments: This road follows an old Atlantic and Pacific (now part of Burlington Northern) railroad grade. Start on Hwy62, about 17.5 miles east of the 62/177 junction (just over .5 miles west of mile marker 103). Proceed north on the unsigned dirt road (actually, there is a yellow 'not maintained' sign). You'll cross several washes, and Danby Dry Lake on your left. Cross under the powerline at 34°15'03"N, 115°06'15"W, continuing northwest. About 3 miles farther, the road heads almost due west. A road splits off to the south heading to the dry lake mining operations. Just continue west, past Milligan Siding, curving back to the northwest around some hills. At 34°21'23"N, 115°16'47"W, you'll pass Chubbuck. This is a good place to explore. Several side roads head west to mines and prospects in the nearby hills. When you are ready, head northwest again, always keeping the railroad tracks on your right. At At 34°29'30"N, 115°28'38"W, the road bends right for a moment and crosses the tracks before continuing northwest again. From here on, the tracks should be on your left side. Another 2.15 miles later, you will cross some east/west tracks, the road curves left, and you are at Cadiz Siding. Another 3.3 miles northwest takes you to Chambless, on old Hwy 66. Head west on 66, past Amboy, to rejoin Interstate 40 near Ludlow.
