Comments: Take I-10 east past Palm Springs. At 115°48'08"W, exit and head north on Joshua Tree National Park Road. Proceed on the park road about 13.7 miles. Here the park road curves west, and Old Dale road proceeds straight. After 9.8 miles, you arrive at the remains of Mission Well. After another 2.3 miles, the road climbs up and out of Joshua Tree National Park into the Dale Mining District. Road name changes here to Gold Crown Road. Continue through the Pinto Mountains. Watch for many mining claims in this area. 13.8 miles takes you to SR62 just east of Twentynine Palms.
