Comments: This easy 13.9 mile road follows a ridge across the San Ysidro mountains, with great views down into Mexico. Trail begins at Engineer Springs, south of Dulzura on Hwy 94. Head southwest on Marron Valley Road. After about 2.5 miles, you will see a sign for 'Doghouse Junction', turn right here. After another 2 miles, you enter the Otay Mountain Wilderness. Stay on the main trail. You will see numerous side roads, but stay on the main trail at all times. Most of these side roads are US Border Patrol observation points. At 32°36'01"N, 116°50'31"W, you will reach Doghouse Junction. Turn south and pass just below Otay Mountain with its radio towers. Proceed south and west, to the end of the trail at Kuebler Ranch. Turn south, about a mile will take you to Otay Mesa Road. Head west, past the Naval Air Station, to San Ysidro, where you can jump on the freeway back to home.
