The road will turn sharply north and down, and pavement will end. After about 1/4 mile, turn west, and follow the road to the intersection of the Red Hill Truck Trail and The San Jacinto Ridge Road. This short but sweet (4 miles total) trail winds down from the pines and cedars into the chapperal, with great views of Hemet Valley along the way. Turning east at the end, the road passes through grassy mountain meadows before ending at the USC extension campus in Idyllwild.
