These dumb wildflowers don't seem to know its still winter. Well, who can blame them. The temperature is upper 70's and it's a beautiful, clear day.
Cedar and Willa climb the dusty road. This is a pretty easy dirt road, 4WD is not required.
Entering the pine and fir forest. When you look up at the Santa Ana mountains from the Orange County side, it looks dry and treeless. I think this fools a lot of people. Its actually very pleasent up here.
Looking northeast from the summit. Its a heck of a view at the top.
Driving through the pine forest. Coulter Pine and White Fir are common. The understory is mostly Oak and Manzinita.
