Trip Report - July 2005
Where: Whitewater Trout Farm
When: July 23, 2005
Who: 6 people in 2 vehicles
We arrived at the trout farm just before it opened at 10:00. We had elected not to camp, as the weather predictions were for incredible heat and possible afternoon thunderstorms. We were surprised that, while hot, it was not too bad under the many shade trees. The thunderstorms did not happen at all. It stayed mostly sunny the whole time we were there. The catfish pool was closed, but that was fine because we were all interested in trout.

Driving up Whitewater Canyon. I've never actually seen water in the Whitewater River before...
The Trout Farm is at the end of the road, where the canyon narrows. Great sedimentary cliffs rise up on each side of the Trout Farm.
The 'Lodge', with cafe and giftshop.
Joshua trys his luck in the trout pond. Actually we all did well, catching about 2 each. They put up a fair fight.
Melinda brought in the largest, about 4 lbs. "Ooh, it's shiney..."
Just as I was about to take this group shot, Lori pulled out another one.
